Chargers Football

Well the Chargers will be playing the Necco Raiders in the NSYFL Super Bowl Saturday night at 8:00.  The game is at North Kansas City High School.  Both the A and B teams were undefeated this season!  Way to go boys!  James won't be playing, but he's done a nice job being on the 'practice squad.'

#92, Defensive Tackle, 5th 6th grade Chargers, James Muller!  YEAH!!!  I wonder if Ron has any vodka left!

The boys after beating the undefeated Raiders, 14-6! They will meet again in the Super Bowl this week!

James and some of the other fellas watching the big kids (7th & 8th grade boys) play.

The football season is very long--Practice began July 28th and it will finally end with the Super Bowl November 10th.  There is an all-star game on the 17th, but we are not going.  I'm very proud of James and the rest of the kids and I have SO MUCH FUN with all of it!!!

LET'S DO THIS!!!!!

WEDDING DAY!!!

Well, the big day is finally here!  We are all so happy for Ryan and Kirsten!  Here are just a few quick pictures from last night.  My camera battery is charging right now, so I hopefully won't miss a thing tonight!  Dad just called me (to see if his cell phone even works) and he told me that Ryan is chewing gum so fast that his teeth are going to vaporize.

Ron and Kirsten at the church before the rehearsal.

Ron and Nicholas at Brio...Two very handsome gentlemen!

No blog post would be complete without Meggie and James.  I think that this picture is 'frame-worthy.'

SOOOOO excited for tonight!  I would write more, but it's now 3:00 and it's time to get everyone dressed.  LOVE you!

My Magnetic Bulletin Board

I completely forgot to include the pictures of the magnetic frame that I made for myself.  I actually made two of them.  One is for the deck and one is for my office.  I purchased a 'barn wood' type frame in two different sizes.  This one is 36 x 24, but the one for my office at school is only 18 x 24.  Again, these were 50% at Hobby Lobby.  Ron cut the sheet metal for me and I was able to use the remnants of the foam board that I used for Meghan's frame.  I spent more time on this magnetic bulletin board than I did on Meghan's.  I purchased scrapbook paper and pieced it together.  Since I had a hard time getting the paper to stick directly to the metal, I painstakingly taped along all of the edges.  I didn't have a specific pattern in mind--I just kind of went with it.

I thought that this scrapbook paper (.30/each at Hobby Lobby) matched perfectly with the barn wood frame.  Once I was happy with the pattern and the paper was firmly secured the sheet metal, I brushed a light coat of decoupage across the front.

Finally, I used super glue to attach magnets to the back of Scrabble letters to make fun words and sayings.  I purchased the letters on eBay.  I got 200 for $14.99.  I was surprised by how many eBay auctions for Scrabble letters there were.  Anyway, I glued close to 100 (obviously that's too many) and put them on the board.

And there you have it...Another inexpensive and fun activity to do on a long, hot summer day.

I've Been Crafty!

Well, I used some of my summer break to play around on Pinterest and do some of the projects that I've seen.  Today, I'm going to show you the magnetic bulletin board that I made--copied directly from Pinterest, but with my own little twist.

I actually made two of them.  For each of them, I purchased an open wood frame at Hobby Lobby (the week that they were 50% off).  Meghan's, which was 12 x 12, was plain wood and we painted it purple (her choice).  I let her choose a piece of scrapbook paper (that was also 50% off).    Ron cut a piece of sheet metal for me, but I asked him to shorten each side by 1/4 of an inch.    We used painters tape to attach the sheet metal to a piece of foam board that I also purchased at Hobby Lobby.  Once the sheet metal was secure, I taped the scrapbook paper to the foam board.

Once the paint was dried and the frame was assembled, we added glittery stickers (50% off at Michael's) along the outside of the frame.

Finally, we made our own magnets.  We purchased these pieces from the scrabooking section of the store.  Since I don't scrapbook myself, I don't know what they're called.  We also bought small magnets from Michael's.  These were not on sale, but they were only $5.99 for a package of 50.  Look at my next project to see what I did with the remaining magnets.

So, there you have it!  An inexpensive, yet FUN, activity that Meghan and I did together on a long, hot summer afternoon.

Happy Birthday, Meggie!!!

I can't believe that Meggie is already 8 years old.  Her due date was July 5th, and I was so glad that she didn't have a 4th of July birthday.  Today we are going to celebrate by going to lunch at Stone Canyon Pizza.  Then, we are going to make cake pops in shapes.  Finally, we are all going to Buffalo Wild Wings.  I still plan to have spaghetti and Texas Toast on Sunday, but the time may have to change, depending upon how well James and the Flyers do in the end of season tournament this weekend.

Speaking of James, I love this picture of him!  He's doing very well with his pitching.  He pitched again last night.  He has a great time doing it, but he says that his arm hurts.

Flower Girl Dresses!!!

What a great day we had!  Webster House is great, but I definitely had way too many biscuits and gravy.  I love this picture and me and our girl.

Here is Meghan with her new friend, Phoebe!

Meghan and Grams are discussing important things here!

LOVE

When I made this, it was with fond memories of growing up...That's why I included Lady.  Meghan was irritated that I didn't include Maggie or Lucy.  Love you!

Mother's Day

Thank you so much for coming over and having a delicious hamburger.  The flowers you brought were just beautiful and made the kitchen smell so lovely.

These two are having so much fun.  I wonder what they were talking about.  I'll guess dogs, lions, or tigers!

I would also be remiss if I didn't include a picture of Ryan's self-tanned legs.  Kirsten told him he was too pale, so this is what you get.  Of course, I'm not really one to talk about someone else's being pale!!!

Double Rainbow

If you look very closely, you can see the double rainbow.  What a neat way to start the day!

This was only the second time that I had ever seen one.  The first time I didn't have my dang camera with me.

Soccer Results

Yeah! Meghan's team won their first game, 3-1. Meghan scored two of the goals. She had a bit of an attitude during the game because she wanted to play goalie. She didn't get to, and then ignored Coach Peter when he congratulated her on her goals. She also didn't get to wear her big headband and that irritated her. It's hard being Meghan!!

Our Afternoon in Liberty!

I love the signs that we stole from another person's seats!
Beautiful chapel. Look at that goofball in the hat-We could have sat there afterall.
I can't believe that they didn't choose Maggie to be the security dog.
Look at these losers in the back.
It's the flag Nazi.
Poor Jim Talent. It's too bad that he lost to Claire McCaskill.

He's adorable!
This was a lot of fun. Thanks for going with me!

Nick Turns 17!!

Looking good, mi mami!!!
If I were sentenced to the electric chair, and I had one piece of this cake, it would all be ok.

Meghan and Olivia worked so hard on the table. I thought that second graders would at least recognize that the letters were backwards, but oh well!!!
